Days 2 and 3

Raft Building which tested the power of team work

First day on Arran
Primary 7 had a lovely sailing over to the Isle of Arran. The children enjoyed spotting porpoises from the ferry. On arrival at Brodick we met with staff from the centre who took us to Lamlash in the Outdoor Centre minibuses. Once there, it wasn't long before we were getting the wet suits on and getting ready for our first watery adventure. The green group were heading out to sea in the kayaks and the Red group were heading off to do some gorge walking. All the children had a really enjoyable afternoon and thought it was "amazing".

After dinner and duty group 1 clearing the tables and tidying up, we headed to the classroom for an interesting talk by Jenny who works for COAST. She then led us out to study the rock pools and the life that lurks inside them.

As the sun began to set, we were issued with our equipment and clothing for the coming days, filled our log books and had supper. Duty group 2 set the tables for breakfast and we headed to our rooms for showers, chat and sleep.

A good day was had by all.

Group 2 have arrived in Arran safely and have had a great afternoon participating in activities which have included gorge walking and kayaking.  Miss Robertson spoke to the school staff who said everyone was having a great time.  The Group were preparing for their evening activities at 6:30p.m. and we will look forward to seeing the photographs as soon as the staff get an opportunity to send them.

Group 1 - Thursday morning adventures.  Parents and carers were delighted to see all the children back home, having had a great time, and a little tired.

P7 had great fun exploring on their first day.

We enjoyed some team challenges together in the evening.

ARRAN OUTDOOR EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Everyone has arrived safely and are enjoying their first day. We are currently awaiting photographs, once the activities are over and the staff have a minute to send them.
